When choosing food for their pets, many people are guided by stereotypes.
For example, some cat owners feed their four-legged friends fish and give them milk.
It would seem that this is how it should be done. After all, from early childhood we have seen pictures and cartoons where cats ate exactly these products.
In fact, milk should be excluded from the cat's diet. Especially if we are talking about an adult animal. And you should give your pet fish with caution.
So, what "cat" food is not suitable for cats at all?
Milk
Contrary to popular belief, cats should not be given milk to drink.
The whole point is that with each passing year, the animal's body copes worse and worse with the breakdown of lactose. As a result, problems with the gastrointestinal tract arise.
Milk can only be given to very young kittens.
Canned tuna
You can give your cat fish. But you must comply with a number of conditions.
Firstly, fish products should not be the basis of your pet's diet. One such meal per week will be quite enough.
Secondly, you should not give your animal raw, fried, dried or salted fish.
And canned tuna can be considered a forbidden product for cats.
This fish often accumulates compounds that are dangerous for pets. In addition, the product is not suitable for cats for other reasons: tuna in oil is extremely fatty, and tuna in brine is high in salt.
