Many animals react actively to aromas, since smells affect their mood, nervous system and even behavior.
In some cases this is not a cause for concern.
However, sometimes cats like the scents that belong to rather dangerous plants. In such cases, it is important to make sure that the pet is not in danger.
What smells make cats delight
Valerian root
This plant has a powerful sedative effect on people, so we use it during periods of stress and nervous tension.
However, cats can become quite aggressive and "bold".
Experts recommend hiding the medicinal plant so that the animal does not have access.
Catnip
This plant even has a "speaking" name, because cats really like it. Some animals become calm and docile thanks to the aroma.
However, some cats respond to mint in the same way as valerian. Also, some pets can show a surprising degree of indifference to the plant. It is believed that about a third of cats do not show any interest in mint.
Basil
Many will be surprised by the fact that cats love basil. It is noteworthy that animals can even taste basil: in small quantities, the spice can be useful.
However, you can only treat your cat with fresh basil.
Honeysuckle
If you have this bush growing in your dacha, you should be careful. Cats like the scent of honeysuckle, but the plant itself is toxic to them.
