Dogs live by their own laws, and their owners are often irresponsible.
They do not teach the animal to exist in the human world and cannot control their pet, as they neglect training and education.
This is especially dangerous for large breeds, whose characteristic trait is aggression.
Due to ill-mannered and unsocialized representatives of conditionally dangerous breeds, small dogs end up at risk.
Danger for a small dog
Unfortunately, owners of small breeds are even more irresponsible when it comes to raising their four-legged friend.
As a result, small dogs show aggression, do not know how to communicate with their relatives, or even attack the Caucasian Shepherd or Rottweiler, because they do not understand their vulnerability.
To prevent this from happening, responsible dog owners take the training of their pet seriously, no matter what size or breed it is.
The thing is that any dog is a dog. And size doesn't matter. A shepherd won't tolerate an attacking Spitz. And not because she's mean, but because she has a mechanism of reactions to certain situations. When attacked, you either have to defend yourself or run away. Run away from the one who is stronger. And you have to attack the one who is weaker.
Also on a walk you can meet dogs with zooaggression. Many of them attack with the purpose of killing a fellow. Sometimes a male of a large breed sees a rival in a small male.
Situations can be different, including attacks by stray dogs alone or in a pack. And the task of the owner of a small dog is to protect his charge at any cost. After all, he himself will not be able to do this if the enemy exceeds him in strength and size.
A technique that will help save your pet
Experienced dog breeders use one interesting technique that can save a pet's life in an emergency. They teach the dog to jump into their arms.
It is quite easy to do this if you start from the moment when the puppy tries to jump on the owner. Come up with some short command, for example, "Up!". When the puppy jumps, pick it up in your arms, say "Up!", and praise, give a treat. Over time, jumping on a person should be stopped, but the command "Up!" should be trained regularly. As the dog grows, it will jump higher and higher.
Then, when attacking a larger relative or a person (this can also happen), it will be enough to call the pet to you and command "Up!" so that it will be safe.
