A cat may refuse to drink from a bowl for various reasons.
Perhaps the water in the bowl has become stagnant (cats do not like stale water), perhaps the bowl is too narrow and deep, and the cat's whiskers are preventing him from drinking.
But most often the problem is that the water bowl is too close to the food bowl.
Cats instinctively avoid water sources that are close to where food is located.
The problem is solved very simply - the bowl of water should be placed as far away from the bowl of food as possible.
