Why Cats Don't Like to Hug
As a rule, it is not the hugs themselves that are unpleasant for a cat, but the way in which it is picked up.
Never pick up a cat by the neck or under the belly with one hand.
You need to put one hand under the cat’s front paws, the other under the back paws, and then lift it up.
The hugs should not be too strong and cause discomfort to the pet.
And most importantly, don’t try to hug the cat when it clearly doesn’t want to.
