Scientists have concluded that pets have some influence on their owners' sleep.

And it doesn't matter whether it's a cat or a dog. They can relieve anxiety and depression, but at the same time disrupt your sleep patterns. Here are the conclusions experts have reached.

It is believed that cats and dogs can give their owner a feeling of comfort and security during sleep. As a result, anxiety levels decrease, which means increased resistance to stressful situations and a reduced risk of developing depression.

On the other hand, pets periodically disrupt sleep, making nighttime rest less quality.

These are the conclusions reached by researchers from the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. What did the scientists find out?

It turns out that dog owners are more likely to experience sleep disorders.

Cat owners are bothered by involuntary twitching of the limbs.

Scientists have not yet determined whether animals sleeping nearby are directly to blame for this.

According to the results of previous studies, it was found that human sleep disorders may be associated with the nocturnal activity of animals.

But then, data on where the animals slept was not taken into account.

For now, scientists do not advise people who are prone to frequent ailments to sleep with pets, so that sleep disturbances do not aggravate existing ailments.
