It is not known which animals are more often taken into homes - dogs, cats, hamsters or fish, but no one will argue that the most comfortable and affectionate are, of course, cats.

But future owners make mistakes when choosing a pet that matches their character and abilities. Here are these 5 mistakes.

They get a pet on a whim

A cat requires a lot of attention and care. First of all, everyone who lives in rented apartments should think about this. A pet can ruin someone else's furniture or wallpaper, and the tenant will be responsible for this.

They only take small kittens

An adult cat has many advantages. It is possible that it will be more obedient, it will be less playful and active, it will respond to love and attention better than a stupid kitten, and it will get used to the litter box faster.

They are afraid of omens

This applies to black cats. People come up with all sorts of stories about these unfortunate animals. However, owners of such pets do not notice that their lives have become worse since a black cat has appeared in the house.

They don't take into account the "opinions" of other pets

If someone already lives in the apartment, then the cat may be unnecessary. It is worth asking what kind of character the new pet has. If the cat is too wild, then perhaps it will be very difficult for fish, birds or a dog to get along with it.

Forgetting about obligations

You need to have some idea that you will have to be responsible for a pet for the next 5-10 years. And that means that before you go on vacation, you will also need to think about who your four-legged friend will stay with. And this is just one example.
