Cat owners consider one of their pets' habits to be a bad character trait. We are talking about the habit of throwing things off shelves or tables onto the floor.

But this is not explained by a bad character. It's just that a cat or a male cat are living creatures with their own interests, and they have fun as best they can.

It's hard to believe, but they also get bored, they may want attention, and their instincts also make themselves known.

Attention

In this way, the pet may try to attract the owner's attention. Depending on the person's reaction, the cat will repeat these actions in the future. It will tease someone, and "flirt" with someone.

It could also be a hint that the food or water in the bowl has run out, or a simple desire to be in the owner’s arms.

Boredom

A house cat doesn't really have much to do. Eat, sleep, wash, and go to the toilet. So you have to come up with some new entertainment. And when you're forbidden from scratching furniture and carpets, there's only one thing left to do: throw things on the floor.

Actually, at this moment the cat’s behavior is not much different from the behavior of a baby who begins to throw his first toys – it’s just interesting to watch the falling object.

Instincts

If the cat could go for a walk outside, it might catch a mouse or run after sparrows. At home, instincts are just as strong, but it is difficult to give them an outlet. It is possible that the cat will continue to play with the dropped object as prey, or perhaps switch to something new.
