Growling while eating is one of the manifestations of food aggression.
As a rule, cats behave aggressively while eating if there are several pets in the house.
But animals with a well-developed hunting instinct can growl without any particular reason.
For example, a cat may growl over food simply because it is hungry.
What to do
The main thing is not to try to calm the cat down, and do not touch it under any circumstances.
The pet will think that you want to take away the food, and may scratch or bite. Just let it finish eating in peace.
Try to feed your cat at the same time; if you have several pets in the house, feed them in different rooms or at a distance from each other.
