Why do cats cover their faces with their paws when they sleep?
Cats are known to be big sleepers. According to research, newborn kittens can sleep up to 23 hours a day.
Adult cats spend about two-thirds of their lives sleeping.
And since cats are crepuscular animals, they sleep a lot during the day.
And so that the light does not interfere with indulging in its favorite activity, the cat covers its eyes with its paw.
But this is not the only explanation why cats sleep like this. Often the reason is that the pet is cold.
Cats are very sensitive to cold, and their nose gets cold first, so they warm it with their paw.
This position also gives the cat a sense of security.
