Cats are unpredictable animals that sometimes behave very strangely.

Why does a cat wink at a person?
There are three explanations for this unusual behavior of the pet.
The first is coincidence. If your cat winked at you slyly, it was most likely done by accident.
Cats don't have the ability to wink conspiratorially like humans.
The second explanation has to do with the structure of the cat's eye. Perhaps your cat simply has a dry nictitating membrane, and blinked a few times to moisten it, but to you it seemed like he winked.
An eye infection can also be the cause of a cat's winking.
If your cat winks at you all day long, it probably needs veterinary attention.
