The most unfortunate gifts for the New Year: they may be offended

29.12.2024 15:32

New Year is just around the corner. Shops are bravely enduring the onslaught of citizens storming them: they are rushing to buy gifts.

But it happens that, without even knowing it, we give a person a very unfortunate thing.

Sometimes some of these gifts are so inappropriate that the recipients may be offended.

This is also evident from the numerous posts on social media left by those who have ever received disappointing things.

And, judging by the reviews on the Internet, such gifts are perceived especially painfully if they are accompanied by “secret notes from Santa Claus.”

Shower products

It would seem that there is nothing offensive about a set that includes shampoo, soap, shower gel, deodorant, shaving cream, etc.

But it can. Firstly, many say, it is banal and even vulgar.

Secondly, users note that they prefer to buy such things themselves, since it is, after all, personal hygiene.

And if the “secret Santa Claus” also indicates in the note that these things will help get rid of the bad smell, it’s better for him not to reveal his identity.

Invitations

Many girls write that "Santa Claus" often sends envelopes with tickets to a concert or theater.

But that's not the worst of it. Sometimes homemade coupons claim "the opportunity to go to the movies with me" or to a restaurant, or just go for a walk.

Generosity knows no bounds – just look at how much people spent on envelopes and paper.

True, as it turned out, some of the revealed donors later indicated the cost of the same cinema, cafe and restaurant.

You must admit, it’s not a very good gift, to put it mildly.

Dishes

When it comes to sets (plates, pots, pans, etc.), it's still okay. Practical.

But if one mug is given as a gift? As if it were not New Year, but some ordinary "everyday" holiday like Machine Builder's Day or Motorist's Day, etc.

What if there is a hidden image on the mug? When you pour boiling water, it begins to appear.

It's fine if it's some harmless little Christmas tree or bunny. But what if it's something vulgar and your guests see it?

Thongs and powders

They admit on social networks: they even received thongs as gifts. They were embarrassed, even ashamed.

Well, who gives such things? Especially without knowing the size, taste preferences? A person buys swimsuits himself - many people think so.

You shouldn't give washing powders either. Again, the person may use completely different brands. Or not powders at all, but washing gels.

New Year's washing powder? Surprise, of course, but unpleasant.

Moreover, the recipient may perceive such a gift as a hint of his sloppiness.
