There is no need to explain why it is important to figure out a scammer in time. The difficulty is that skills come with experience and not everyone is given the ability to understand that they are being deceived.
Representatives of the special services have a special approach to deceivers.
How to identify a liar using CIA methods is reported by the BBC, citing a former employee of this agency.
It is said that this method was developed for interrogation purposes and is based on many years of experience.
To spot a liar, you need to focus on the person's reaction.
Five CIA Methods
1. Pay attention to non-verbal cues.
Usually, a deceiver is given away by active gesticulation, touching the face with hands, and frequent coughing.
2. An attempt to avoid answering should also be considered as an attempt to deceive.
3. If the interlocutor insists that everything is fine, then this should also raise alarm bells.
4. The next sign is the manifestation of aggression on the part of the interlocutor. This sign is called possible evidence of a lie.
5. The next point is manipulation, which is manifested in the interlocutor’s manner of conducting a dialogue, repeating your questions or phrases.
The simplest example is the phrase: “Good question.”
To be sure of the deception, it is enough to catch your interlocutor in two of the five proposed points.
But the more coincidences there are, the higher the probability that you are dealing with a liar.
