In order for nothing to spoil the long-awaited trip, you need to prepare well for it in advance in order to avoid many problems in the future.
We're heading to Thailand, but first let's find out how to avoid typical tourist mistakes.
Currency exchange
Before exchanging dollars for local currency, carefully study and compare all offers.
Otherwise, you risk exchanging money at an extremely unfavorable rate.
A Bangkok hotel room overlooking a canal
Everyone wants to have a beautiful view of the city from their room window.
So for most people, a canal view from your room may seem like a great solution. But in reality, this option has several disadvantages.
• From morning until late evening, excursion river trams and public boat transport sail along the canal. They have quite powerful engines. Accordingly, the noise of the engine will be clearly audible even with the windows closed.
• Local residents throw garbage into the water, which is why there is a constant unpleasant smell near the canal. Accordingly, if you open the windows, the smell will be felt in the room. Changing the room is not always possible, since many tourists book them in advance.
Eating unfamiliar food before a trip
Of course, on vacation you want to try everything, including local exotic cuisine.
But if possible, try to avoid local exotic dishes, especially before the trip, since it is unknown how your body will react to certain ingredients.
And poisoning is a fairly common cause here. Therefore, it would be a good idea to take a first aid kit with the necessary medications: for fever, colds and poisoning.
Excursions
When going on an excursion, find out from the tour operator how long it will last, what kind of transport you will take, how many people there will be and what time it will depart.
This is very important for the following reasons.
• If the trip is long, the comfort of the bus or car plays a big role. After all, if you are uncomfortable, you will get tired very quickly on the road and will not get any pleasure.
• If there are a lot of people, then traveling in a cramped and stuffy car is not the best option.
• If the excursion is scheduled for an early time, for example, at 6-7 am, then there is a high probability that you will be sleepy the entire way.
