If you find it difficult to refuse people, and often because of this you sacrifice your own interests, then you need to pay attention to some advice.

Psychologist Veronika Kirsanova told how to learn to refuse without feeling regret.

Life writes about this in more detail.

As the specialist explained, you first need to differentiate for yourself when your help is really needed by a person (he is in trouble or requires support), and when someone is trying to give away their responsibility and manipulate.

In the latter case, you should also figure out why you are doing this.

If it is difficult to refuse at first, you can use verbal forms to soften your answer, for example, add the following phrases: “unfortunately”, “I am very sorry, but”, “I am afraid that”.

Alternatives can be used. For example, "unfortunately, I can't help now", "I can't help, I can only" etc.

If the difficulties do not disappear, it would not be a bad idea to consult a psychologist to find out together the reasons for such behavior and get rid of them.

Earlier we talked about how to quickly get rid of stress.
