Life is a game of time

In chess, time is one of the main resources. If you have time, you play; if you don't have time, you lose.

In life too, if you don’t have time, it’s the end, notes Yaroslav Borisenko, a Belarusian author of books.

Time is a limited resource that must be used to the maximum.

If we take it from the perspective of eternity - the Universe is billions, maybe trillions, maybe even more years old. The Earth is 4.54 billion years old.

The average life expectancy of a human being is about 70 years. The time allotted to a human being on this planet is very short.

Some people live it in constant boredom and melancholy, are afraid of something all the time or are lazy, put things off until later, and find dozens of excuses. Others manage to do a lot in their short life.

Let's take Leonardo da Vinci, for example. In his short life, he became famous as a sculptor, inventor, painter, philosopher, writer, scientist. And he managed to do all this in 67 years of life.

Many will say that this is a gifted person and such are born rarely. But scientists have proven that talented people are not born, but become.

In his book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell, based on the work of psychologist Anders Ericsson, studied the success stories of many legendary individuals and companies and discovered the 10,000-hour rule. The book states that no matter what the field, it takes 10,000 hours of practice to achieve a level of mastery commensurate with the status of a world-class expert.

It is important to appreciate every moment of life, because it is gone forever. It is necessary to do what you love, put your soul into what you do, be aware, learn and grow in the professional sphere or in any other sphere of life.

Chess uses time control to speed up the game or to prevent it from dragging on. Players see the time remaining and plan their moves with that in mind. Imagine if a person could see the time remaining in their life. What would they do?

Many people, after being diagnosed with an incurable disease, begin to appreciate every moment and live consciously. Do important things, in their opinion, and remove everything unimportant. Meet loved ones, do favorite things, watch the sunrise, sunset, rain and snow and look for only the positive.

In chess - time control for the game, in life - time control for life. A game of chess and life are very similar in terms of time, only the time is different. The game, life, and planet have different time, but it is limited, and this must be remembered.
