Why conflicts arise in the family: a psychologist named the most popular reasons

Disputes and quarrels in families are inevitable and a consequence of the clash of interests of different people.

But in addition to interests, psychologists are accustomed to paying attention to childhood trauma, behavioral characteristics, and other risk factors that provoke disagreements.

Practicing psychologist Inna Ermakova told Lady Mail.ru about why conflicts arise in families.

First of all, relatives

Relatives on each side should distance themselves and avoid interfering in the personal affairs of the spouses.

The spouses need to discuss a couple of important points: how often they will visit relatives, and how often they will invite them to the house.

Secondly, freedom

Partners should still have the opportunity to meet with friends, devote time to their interests, and develop.

If a wife or husband does not have such interests, then there is no need to forbid your other half from having them.

Thirdly, work

If one of the spouses is busy with work to provide for the family, then he has the right to expect that he will not be reproached for this at home.

By reproaching him for disappearing at work and being busy even at home, you become an aggressor and make your chosen one “eternally guilty,” the expert says.

Fourth, finances

Planning and discussing a budget is always a challenge.

It is difficult to give any advice here, especially if people do not know how to negotiate.

Fifthly, everyday life

Keeping your home tidy is not just about clearing away clutter in a timely manner.

Each partner should have an area of responsibility, but this rule does not exempt them from helping each other.

It is unlikely that you will be able to eliminate the causes of quarrels in the family, but you can avoid hasty decisions.
