It is generally accepted that women “love with their ears”.

There are popular compliments that upset young ladies.

"You look great today!"
The word “today” is clearly unnecessary.
A woman may immediately ask: “Did I look bad yesterday?”
"You look very slim in that suit."
It would seem that everything is fine: the girl is complimented for her excellent taste and for choosing the right clothes.
The problem is that a representative of the fair sex may come to the following conclusion: “Does this mean that I look fat in other suits?”
"This blouse suits you very well. Wear it more often."
What's bad about this compliment is that it contains the following hint: "You usually choose clothes that don't suit you."
The disadvantage of the phrase is that it contains advice that the girl did not ask for.
"You look great for your age!"
This seemingly positive statement contains a hint that the lady is no longer young.
It's unlikely that a woman will be pleased to hear this.
