Near Brest, a 69-year-old driver collided with a taxi while overtaking

A serious traffic accident occurred in the Brest region of Belarus.

While overtaking, the 69-year-old driver of a Japanese car collided head-on with a taxi in the oncoming lane.

The press service of the Brest Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate reported the incident on its official Telegram channel.

According to the data released by the department, the accident took place on Friday, September 20, at 15:17.

At that time, a Nissan car driven by a 69-year-old driver was moving along the P94 Brest – Polish border highway.

At the 10th kilometer of this highway, the driver of the "Japanese" went to overtake. Having driven into the oncoming traffic lane, he collided with a Hyundai taxi.

It is known that the driver of the latter was a 46-year-old resident of Brest.

The police department notes that a woman was injured in the accident. She was taken to the hospital.

Currently, an investigation is being conducted into the road incident and all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
