Unfortunately, Belarus continues to record cases of fatal road accidents involving wild animals on the roads.
The latest incident of this kind occurred on Tuesday evening, September 17, in the Krupki district of the Minsk region.
As reported by the regional police department press service on its official Telegram channel, at approximately 8:40 p.m. a Skoda Superb was driving towards the capital.
At the 462nd kilometer of the highway, an elk suddenly jumped out onto the roadway.
The 46-year-old driver of the foreign car was unable to avoid a collision with the animal.
As a result of the accident, the passenger in the front seat was injured.
When the ambulance arrived, doctors began to provide emergency assistance, but they were unable to save the 57-year-old man, the department noted.
The driver was also injured. He was taken to hospital. The culprit of the accident – the moose – died.
