The US president-elect has once again proposed that neighbouring Canada join his country as a new state.
In return, the charismatic Republican promised to cut taxes for Canadians by more than 60%.
He voiced all this in his Christmas greeting, in which he called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau the governor of the 51st US state.
Merry Christmas to the Governor of Canada, Justin Trudeau. His citizens have too many taxes, but if Canada became the 51st state, their taxes would be reduced by more than 60% , TASS quotes Trump as saying.
He claims that if his proposal is accepted, local businesses will “double in size.”
Ultimately, Trump promises, Canada will be protected “like no other country in the world.”
He also wished Merry Christmas to the "wonderful Chinese soldiers who carefully but illegally manage the Panama Canal."
The politician also wished a Merry Christmas to Greenland, which, according to his statement, “is needed by the United States for national security purposes.”
Trump is confident that this island state, which is part of the Danish kingdom, “wants the presence of the United States” on its soil.
The previously elected American leader also called the Canadian prime minister the governor of the "great state of Canada."
As for Panama, Trump has issued an ultimatum: Washington will take back the Panama Canal unless the terms of its use are revised.
He specifically stated that the United States should control Greenland.
