One of the richest inhabitants of planet Earth, US citizen Elon Musk, warned humanity of its imminent demise.
But he also named the condition under which earthlings will survive. According to the businessman, the only way to do this is to explore space and carry out interstellar flights.
An American predicts that the blue planet will collide with a large comet, which will destroy virtually all life on Earth.
This, Musk says, has happened before. And more than once.
He is confident that in the future the Sun “will expand so much that it will boil the oceans and destroy all life.”
"Either we become a civilization that travels in space, or we perish. There are no other options," the TASS agency quotes the entrepreneur as saying.
Earlier, Elon Musk said that humanity would be able to survive for no more than a few hundred years without exploring new planets and star systems.
In his opinion, people already now need to think about how to populate other planets, build a base on the Moon and build cities on Mars.
