Throwing away raspberries with worms? In vain! These larvae are not a death sentence, but a signal: your plot has been attacked by a raspberry fly.

Bio Garden magazine published a sensation: 95% of summer residents do not even suspect where the enemy is hiding.

Organic blogger Maria Zelenaya, with 1.2 million TikTok followers, said:

“I got rid of worms in a week, and it cost me 50 rubles.”

And Sergey, a gardener from the Moscow region, wrote in the group “Raspberry Country”:

“Now children eat raspberries straight from the bush - no chemicals!”

The main mistake is to wait for the worms to appear. The raspberry beetle larvae overwinter in the soil at a depth of 5–7 cm.

In early spring, water the soil under the bushes with a mustard solution (2 tbsp. per 10 liters of water).

Essential oils will kill 80% of pests without affecting earthworms.

The second step is the "adult trap".

Hang yellow sticky traps around the area - flies and beetles are attracted to this color.

The third secret is planting garlic between rows. Phytoncides suppress the development of larvae, and the sharp smell disorients pests.

But the most effective method is “double pruning”.

In June, shorten the young shoots by 10 cm - this will stop the female flies from laying eggs.

Repeat the procedure in August to kill the second wave of pests.

Scientists from the All-Russian Research Institute of Horticulture have proven that this approach reduces berry damage by 90%.

For emergency cases, an infusion of onion peel is suitable: pour 300 g with boiling water, leave for a day, spray the bushes before flowering.

“Raspberries are like a child: if you don’t notice a problem in time, it will start to cry with worms,” jokes agronomist Andrei Tumanov .

Don't forget to remove all fallen leaves and mulch in the fall - this is a breeding ground for infections. And never plant raspberries next to strawberries!

They have common pests that migrate between beds. Try these methods - and your berries will become the standard of purity, like in the advertisement of Swiss chocolate.
