Flax, despite all its beneficial properties, is quite rare in garden plots.
Perhaps not everyone knows that this crop is used not only for making fabric and weaving ropes.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" - a scientist agronomist and landscape designer, told why it is necessary to sow flax in the country.
First, pollination
Flax attracts bees and other insects to the site, which participate in the pollination of plants.
Secondly, improving the soil condition
The plant has a developed root system that penetrates deep into the soil and thus loosens it.
Flax seeding also prevents erosion.
Flax does not necessarily need to be sown in a separate plot. If you sow it between rows, it will saturate the soil with nitrogen.
The plant can be cut and left to rot in the soil over the winter, which will improve the composition of the soil.
Thirdly, decor
Each type of flax has its own distinctive properties.
But in addition to being used in handicrafts, the plant can become a decoration for the area during flowering.
Flax does not require special care. But it is advisable to grow it in a well-lit place and in moderately moist, not waterlogged soil.
