The beginning of January is suitable for sowing small greens and seeds of ornamental crops. But as for tomatoes, there is no need to hurry.
You can buy seeds of your favorite varieties and hybrids, stock up on fertilizers and soil. Nothing more.
We will tell you when to start sowing tomatoes, and what dates are considered favorable in March and April.
When to start
Firstly, the deadlines are not universal.
To calculate the exact date, you need to subtract from the date of transplanting seedlings in your region the germination period and the time when the seedlings are ripe for planting in the ground or greenhouse.
These dates are conditional and depend solely on the region and climatic conditions.
But if you have a greenhouse, the sowing time shifts a few days earlier.
Secondly, gardeners usually start work at the beginning of March if they are going to plant tomato seedlings in a greenhouse.
If you intend to grow seedlings for open ground, it is recommended to sow from the third ten days of March to the first ten days of April.
Remember that you can transplant seedlings that have been sprouting for at least 50-60 days.
Favorable days
From the point of view of the gardener's calendar, the best days for sowing in March are the 10th-14th, as well as the 30th.
In April, work can be scheduled up until the 11th.
With the exception of April 2 and 3, all days are considered favorable.
