Ideally, flowers covered with a white coating should be removed from your site, as this is a clear sign of powdery mildew.
But if you are sorry to part with your favorite plants, you can try to fight the infection. Fortunately, there are many effective methods for this.
Infusion of hay dust
To prepare the product, pour 1 kg of hay with 3 liters of water and leave for 3 days. Before use, the infusion should be filtered and diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 3.
Use it to spray phloxes three times, once a week. To enhance the effectiveness of the preparation, add 5 g of copper sulfate to the infusion.
1% solution of soda ash
This solution should also be used for spraying phloxes. The plants need to be treated three times during the summer with an interval of 8-12 days.
Copper soap solution
To create a medicinal composition, you will need to dissolve 250 g of green soap and 20-25 g of copper sulfate in 10 liters of water.
It is recommended to use an enamel or wooden container: in one container, prepare a solution of green soap (in 5 liters of water), in another - a solution of copper sulfate (also in 5 liters of water), then mix both solutions until you get a bluish-white liquid.
Phloxes need to be treated 2-3 times a week (every 8 days).
