Throw some snow on the beds
If the snow cover is less than 15 cm thick, you will have to take a shovel to move the snow from the paths to the beds with winter crops. This is the best protection against freezing, which threatens plants in snowless winters.
Pour snow into the greenhouse
The main thing is not to rush: you should wait until the soil in the ground freezes thoroughly, and only then start insulating it using snow. As a rule, the right time to pour snow into the greenhouse comes closer to the end of December.
There will be no pathogens left in the frozen soil, and by sprinkling it with snow, you will be able to moisten and nourish the soil, thereby preparing it for future plantings.
In addition, the winter seedlings will remain in excellent condition.
Cover the bushes with snow
After the first snowfall, you will most likely not see any natural cover on the branches. Snow falling from the branches to the ground will leave the plants vulnerable to frost. To help them retain heat, we can cover them with a snow coat, carefully distributing the snow over the crowns. The main thing is not to overload the branches so that they do not break under the weight of the snow.
As for coniferous trees, it is recommended to shake off snow from them, especially after thaws, when too much of it accumulates.
