It might seem like there's nothing unexpected about using baking soda in the kitchen, but did you know that it can save your tomatoes from diseases and pests?

Regular baking soda is not just a white powder for cooking purposes.

When dissolved in water, it becomes a powerful alkaline agent that changes the pH of the soil and leaves, creating unbearable conditions for fungi and aphids.

It also affects the taste of the fruit - the tomatoes become sweeter, and their skin becomes denser, protecting them from cracking.

To prepare the solution, mix 3 tablespoons of soda with 10 liters of water. Add a tablespoon of liquid soap so that the mixture sticks better to the leaves.

Spray the bushes in the morning or evening, avoiding direct sunlight.

Perform the first treatment two weeks after planting the seedlings, then repeat every 10-12 days. After the second spraying, you will notice that the leaves have stopped turning yellow and the ovaries are not falling off.

Soda works as a preventative against late blight and powdery mildew, but if the disease has already appeared, increase the concentration to 5 tablespoons per bucket of water.

The main thing is not to overdo it, otherwise you can burn the roots.

An interesting side effect: this solution repels slugs and caterpillars, which avoid the beds.

And if you water the soil around the bushes with a weak soda solution (1 tablespoon per 10 liters), this will reduce the acidity of the soil, which is critically important for tomatoes.

Those who have risked trying it claim that soda replaces half of the store-bought preparations. The fruits ripen a week earlier, and the yield increases by at least 40%. And all this is without chemicals.
