What if we told you that your cucumbers and peppers will grow by leaps and bounds if you add used tea leaves to the soil?

Yes, that same tea leaves that you throw in the trash - gardeners call valuable fertilizer.

Tea as a fertilizer

Mix dried tea leaves with soil in a ratio of 1:3 - they will loosen the soil and saturate it with nitrogen.

Tea also repels midges and slugs. But this is not the only "kitchen" secret.

Eggshell

Eggshells, ground into powder, will reduce the acidity of the soil and protect the roots from rot. Add it to the holes when picking seedlings - calcium will strengthen the stems.

Coffee grounds

But the main treasure is the coffee grounds. Don't throw them away after your morning coffee!

Dry and mix with soil. Coffee not only makes the soil airy, but also repels aphids.

Gelatin

And if you water the seedlings with water with gelatin dissolved in it (1 packet per 3 liters), the stems will become thicker and the leaves will become brighter.

Gelatin contains collagen, which strengthens plant cells. Just don't use flavored mixtures - they will ruin your seedlings.

Onion peel

Did you know that onion peel is a natural fungicide? Pour boiling water over it, let it sit for a day and water the seedlings.

This will protect against black leg and powdery mildew. Another life hack is water after boiling potatoes. It contains a lot of starch, which stimulates root growth.

Cool it and use it instead of regular watering. But do not take the liquid in which salted products were cooked - salt will kill the plants.

Citrus peel

And don't forget about citrus peels! Dry them, grind them up and add them to the soil. This will repel ants and enrich the soil with essential oils.

Just make sure there is no mold - it is better not to use such powder.

It is important to remember that not all folk recipes help to achieve a guaranteed result, unlike industrial drugs.
