Many wonderful garden flowers are completely undeservedly overlooked.
One of these plants is angelonia. We tell you why it is worth planting this plant.
Why plant angelonia
Angelonia combines everything that summer residents value in flowers: beauty, unpretentiousness, wonderful aroma, small size.
This plant feels good both in the sun and in partial shade.
However, in dense shade the flower will not be able to delight you with lush flowering.
Angelonia should be planted in February, the latest date is March. The seeds do not need to be planted too deep.
In southern climates, this plant can be grown as a perennial.
Since angelonia is drought-resistant, it does not require regular watering.
If the flower has stopped developing due to the heat, it is enough to trim the flower stalks or completely remove the faded ones.
Pruning is an important stage of angelonia care, but there is no need for either shaping or thickening.
It is enough to cut the flower stalk to the base after the flowers have faded, and a new shoot with buds will quickly appear in its place.
