Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" - a scientist, agronomist, landscape designer, told which fertilizers should not be applied in the fall.
Each owner decides for himself what to do on his plot, but these tips will help you save your nerves and energy, save money and not regret what you have done.
Fertilizers are not for autumn
First on the list is ammonium nitrate. This fertilizer, if applied to the soil in the fall, may cake by spring.
In spring, when planting seedlings or other plants, it can cause burns to the root system.
The thing is that this is a concentrated nitrogen fertilizer. It is not safe for plants and soil.
Urea, ammonium sulfate and nitroammophoska are also not suitable for autumn.
As for fertilizers that will not cause harm, you should pay attention to superphosphate or calcium chloride.
From organic matter, you can add manure.
These additives, applied in the fall, will improve the quality of the soil, and in the spring there will be no need to apply these fertilizers again.
