Hobby gardeners are divided into two types. Some are sure that fallen fruit does not need to be removed from trees.
Such summer residents believe that fallen fruits act as an excellent fertilizer.
But other gardeners have no doubt that fallen apples should be collected and thrown away at the first opportunity.
Who is right? The expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh decided to put an end to the long-standing dispute.
Is it necessary to remove fallen fruit?
The specialist confidently answers that fallen fruits must be removed.
The expert emphasized that there is no need to think that fallen fruit turns into a luxurious fertilizer when it rots during the summer cottage off-season.
It turns out that after a few months, fallen fruits turn not into additional fertilizer for garden crops, but into a source of dangerous diseases and pests.
Thus, in the fall, the owner of a country plot should collect every single fallen fruit. They can be sent to the compost heap. Or they can simply be thrown away far from the country plot.
If this condition is met, the gardener will not encounter serious problems after the start of the next summer cottage season.
