Experienced gardeners never throw away walnut shells, because they can come in handy at the dacha.
We tell you how to use walnut shells for the benefit of your garden and vegetable garden.
How to use walnut shells in the garden
Firstly, walnut shells can be used to make fertilizer.
To do this, the shell needs to be burned. The resulting ash is used in different ways.
For example, add it to the hole when planting flower and vegetable crops (1-2 tablespoons per hole).
You can also sprinkle ash around the trunks of trees and shrubs.
You can also prepare a solution for watering. A glass of ash is enough for 10 liters of water.
But ash infusion is more useful. To prepare it, you need to fill a bucket with ash one third and pour hot water over it.
It should be infused for two days. After this time, the infusion should be filtered.
This infusion can be used for both root and foliar feeding.
In addition, walnut shells are used as mulch, drainage and slug repellent.
