Many summer residents face the problem of dense and heavy soil on their plots.

The issue is actually resolved quite simply.

Experienced gardeners say: this method allows you to turn the soil into loose and airy, thereby ensuring an abundant harvest.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about how exactly the soil can be improved.

According to her, the main component is mature compost or manure.

These organic fertilizers enrich the soil with nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus.

In the spring, before planting, you need to add 10 liters of compost or manure per square meter.

In the fall, you can also add organic matter - this way the soil will be better prepared for the next season.

We place compost or manure in holes under trees and shrubs, providing them with additional nutrition.

The second way to improve the soil is to plant green manure crops, such as rape, mustard and peas.

These plants loosen the soil and at the same time saturate it with organic matter.

Loose soil promotes better flow of water and air and enriches plants with substances important for their growth.

As a result, you get – provided that the crops themselves are properly cared for – rich harvests.
