How to triple your pear yield: the secret is in proper pruning

According to gardeners with impressive experience, by following simple rules you can increase the harvest that your pear brings you by 2-3 times.

It turns out that simple pruning can help achieve this result.

The summer resident's task, first of all, is to control the growth of the central conductor. Over the summer, it can become excessively long, so it needs to be cut.

To do this, determine the height at which the lowest branch is located and cut the central conductor slightly higher. As a result, you will be able to form a compact crown and additionally stimulate the development of lateral shoots.

The next rule is: prune unnecessary shoots without mercy.

These include all shoots growing inward and vertically upward, as well as branches growing downward. After their removal, the illumination inside the crown will improve, as will the air circulation.

Finally, the third and last rule concerns the correction of excessively long branches. If you find a branch whose length is equal to the central conductor, cut it off without delay, cutting off the lateral bud - the crown will acquire the correct shape, and the fruit buds will receive an incentive to grow.

To obtain a spreading tree with a properly formed crown, it is necessary to eliminate intersections, i.e. branches that cross or otherwise interfere with each other. This is necessary, again, to improve the illumination inside the crown and reduce the risk of damage to the branches.

Plant breeders also recommend forming fruit branches. To do this, you need to shorten annual shoots to a length of 30-40 cm. This stimulates the formation of fruit buds, which guarantees a bountiful harvest next season.
