How to properly perform moisture-charging irrigation in November: 4 important points

08.11.2024 13:18

Moisture-charging watering is a very important November procedure.

It consists of the following: before the onset of the frosty period, the summer resident needs to water the trees for the last time this season.

The result will be that the plant will have access to a sufficient amount of moisture.

The flora representatives will survive the winter normally, as they will not dry out, will not freeze (moist soil “copes” with low temperatures better) and will not be attacked by pests.

How exactly should moisture-charging irrigation be carried out in November?

An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh reminded us of the important rules for carrying out the procedure.

The age of the tree must be taken into account.

The area to be watered depends on the age of the plant.

If we are talking about a young tree (no more than 4 years old), then it is necessary to water the entire trunk circle.

But if the age of the crop is 5 years or more, then you can limit yourself to watering that part of the circle where most of the absorbent roots are located.

Volume of water

The liquid consumption should be as follows: 50 liters per square meter.

Moreover, you don’t need to use so much water at once. The procedure should be “split” into several approaches.

The holes need to be filled in

Water must be poured into small grooves.

After completing the deepening procedure, it is necessary to fill it up.

If this is not done, serious problems with the root system of plants may arise.

Mulching

The moistened soil should be covered with mulching material.

A layer of peat, humus or leaf blades should appear on the tree trunk circles.
