Almost every gardener knows firsthand about the danger of the onion fly.
The insect can cause serious damage not only to onions, but also to garlic and bulbous flowers.
Fortunately, defeating this common pest is quite simple.
And no expensive drugs are needed. The saving remedy can be... ordinary table salt.
Folk method of combating onion fly
Take a bucket and fill it with water, leaving just a little bit of space.
Add about 250 grams of sodium chloride to the liquid.
Mix the contents of the container well. And this is where the preparation of the miracle remedy against onion flies comes to an end: nothing else needs to be added.
Next, all that remains is to water the onion beds with the prepared solution.
It is advisable to do this when the height of the bow is about six centimeters.
After 2-3 weeks, you need to perform almost the same procedure. There is only one difference: the solution should be more concentrated. So, for 10 liters of plain water, there should be not 250, but 400 grams of table salt.
After another half month has passed, "treat" the onion growing area with salt water again. But this time, you need to use half a kilo of sodium chloride per bucket of water.
