The end of the summer cottage season does not promise peace for summer residents. A lot of work needs to be done before the frosts come.

The list of mandatory tasks at the dacha must include disinfection of the soil in the greenhouse.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist agronomist and landscape designer, told how to carry out work without mistakes and why it is necessary.

Soil disinfection

This is a mandatory section of work, without which you cannot count on a healthy environment in the greenhouse and expect a good harvest next year.

Disinfection helps to deal with fungi, bacteria, insects and their offspring.

At the same time, it is possible to restore the fertile soil layer and its structure.

How to proceed

1. First, clean up and get rid of any remaining vegetation, garters, supports and other debris in the greenhouse.

2. To combat pathogenic microflora, copper-based preparations are used, as well as the necessary preparations for combating insect pests.

The structure itself is treated with agents containing chlorine, hydrogen peroxide or other compounds.

3. It is recommended to water the soil for processing. If you use spraying, you will have to dig and mix the soil.

It is important to cultivate the soil to the full depth of plant roots.

After disinfection with chemicals, gardeners are advised to add biological additives to restore soil microflora.
