Bay leaves can be useful not only for cooks, but also for summer residents.

The fact is that this popular spice is quite capable of acting as... a means for improving the condition of seedlings.

However, there is nothing surprising about this: bay leaf is a source of a considerable number of compounds that are beneficial for the soil and plants.

Thus, bay leaf provides seedlings with protection from diseases and pests.

In addition, the spice helps to make the young plant strong.

In other words, the seedlings will be thick and healthy.

But keep in mind: you need to use bay leaves correctly to achieve the above-described goals.

Bay leaf infusion

Throw 15 bay leaves into a deep container and fill them with water that has just been brought to a boil (1 l).

Wait a couple of hours. As a result, you will get a real super product for seedlings.

Water the young plants weekly at the roots with the prepared water.

Thanks to this procedure, the seedlings will become strong.

Adding bay leaves to the holes

Don't want to bother with making an infusion? Then just use the leaves themselves!

First dry them in the oven and then turn them into powder.

Use the prepared solution when sowing seeds for seedlings: a couple of tablespoons of chopped bay leaf should be added to a liter of soil.

Thanks to such an additive, young plants will have access to useful components. In addition, the seedlings will not be afraid of pests.

Laurel as mulch

Bay leaves can also be used as mulch.

Just put the spice on the soil.

When you start watering young plants, the components important for seedlings will begin to “move” from the bay leaf into the soil.
