Can't get a good tomato harvest? Try growing seedlings using the Chinese method.
We'll tell you what its advantages are and how to use it correctly.
How to Grow Tomato Seedlings Using the Chinese Method
The essence of the method is to create stress for seedlings at the initial stage of cultivation.
The goal is to force tomatoes to enter the fruiting period earlier and produce a larger harvest.
Stressful conditions are created by depriving the plant of roots, that is, by cuttings.
It should be noted that this method is only suitable for indeterminate tomato varieties.
Seedlings should be planted in February or even earlier. If planted later, cuttings do not make sense.
The algorithm of actions is as follows. After three or four well-developed leaves appear, we cut the seedlings at ground level and root them.
It is advisable to cut seedlings with a blade or scalpel, disinfecting the tool after each cut.
When rooting, the seedling must be deepened to the first true leaf.
An important nuance: only well-developed specimens should be propagated by cuttings.
Cuttings can be rooted both in soil and in water. For rooting in water, it is recommended to use a solution of succinic acid (two tablets per liter of water).
