Growing a lemon from a seed is a piece of cake. Just bury the seed in the ground and soon the greenery will appear. But that's all.
You can wait your whole life for fruits from an indoor lemon, but you will never get them if you don’t graft them.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist, landscape designer, told how to care for an indoor lemon.
The most important thing is grafting. And the grafted plant needs to be provided with the necessary conditions.
First: air temperature
Try to maintain the room temperature within 18-22 degrees Celsius in summer and not lower than 12-15 in winter.
Second: air humidity
Spray the plant 1-2 times a week with settled water at room temperature. In winter, the procedure can be done more often due to dry air.
Third: watering
Watering is carried out as soon as the soil becomes dry. You can understand this by the color - it changes its color from black to gray, or by the weight of the pot.
Fourth: flowering
When the lemon blossoms, leave one flower per 10 leaves the plant has.
And finally, choose the right soil composition, make sure the plant has enough sunlight, feed it and check the soil acidity (pH no more than 7) and then the lemon will please you with its first harvest.
