The soil after tomatoes needs to be improved if you had to deal with plant diseases during the season.
There are many folk methods of disinfecting soil with vinegar, boiling water, hydrogen peroxide and other options that destroy beneficial soil microflora.
We will tell you about less radical methods of improving the health of a former tomato bed.
Folk remedies
Plants and other natural products containing essential oils are used.
1. Mustard is one of the first recommended remedies against late blight pathogens.
You will need to dissolve 100 grams of powder in five liters of hot water.
Let it sit for 2 hours, and then water the beds with this infusion.
2. Tobacco infusion has a similar effect. To prepare it, you will need 400 grams of tobacco per 5 liters of water, and it should be infused for 24 hours.
3. Another recipe involves the use of garlic.
500 grams of cloves are crushed, poured with two liters of water, and infused for two days in a cool room.
The finished concentrate is brought to a volume of 10 liters and soil treatment begins.
It is difficult to say which of these methods is more effective.
But after processing, gardeners are required to sow green manure on the former tomato bed - mustard, phacelia or vetch.
