Usually, keeping cucumbers fresh even for one month is an extremely difficult task: vegetables quickly lose their elasticity and juiciness.
This is easily explained by the presence of a large amount of water in the composition.
However, there is a method that will allow you to enjoy cucumbers for about six months. The vegetables will be so delicious as if you just picked them from the garden.
What is the secret method worth knowing about?
As it turns out, this method is quite old, so it has been forgotten. We will need very few ingredients. You will need to pick about half a kilo of nettles and buy a kilo of regular coarse salt. This amount is relevant for ten kilograms of cucumbers.
First of all, wash the vegetables, dry them, and remove the stems. It is advisable to wash and chop the nettles.
Take a storage container. This can be a barrel or a large pot with an enamel surface. Pour a centimeter layer of salt. Then put the cucumbers, add salt again and cover with a layer of nettle.
Then we repeat the procedure until the cucumbers are finished. We put gauze on the nettle with salt, put oppression and leave in a cold place for 72 hours.
Drain the brine, put the cucumbers in jars and pour in the liquid. For 4 glasses of water, take two large spoons of salt.
