Rarely can a summer resident say that slugs practically never appear in his garden.

But even if you constantly and promptly fight pests, there is no guarantee that they will not appear in the future. One day they may move from neighboring areas.

Slug populations can increase rapidly if not controlled.

In addition to maintaining order on the plot and mowing the grass, summer residents protect the plantings with improvised means.

According to gardeners, all of these are proven products that do not harm the environment or fruit crops.

It would be correct to say that they only repel slugs and are not poisonous substances.

What to use

To combat parasites, gardeners are advised to use:

  • wood ash,
  • tobacco dust,
  • hot red pepper,
  • black pepper,
  • coffee grounds.

How to use

Using these products is very easy. They are sprinkled on plants after spraying them with water.

As long as cabbage, zucchini or other vegetables are sprinkled with spices or ash, slugs will not approach the crop.

This means that the protective layer will have to be renewed regularly.
