Contrary to popular belief, not all plants respond well to wood ash feeding.
We will tell you which crops are not recommended to be fed with this fertilizer.
What plants are not fed with ash
Firstly, ash-based fertilizers are not suitable for radishes, watermelons and sorrel.
These crops prefer slightly acidic and acidic soils, and ash alkalizes the soil.
For the same reason, it is not recommended to use ash to feed blueberries.
Of the flowers, rhododendron and hydrangea react poorly to ash fertilizers; they also like acidic soil.
Also, coniferous plants – thuja, spruce, juniper, etc. – do not tolerate a decrease in soil acidity.
