When pruning tomatoes, you must follow certain rules, otherwise you may lose the harvest.
We tell you how to properly prune tomatoes and what you should never do.
How to prune tomatoes correctly
Firstly, you can only remove leaves from indeterminate tall tomatoes, but not from short ones.
The first leaves on tall tomatoes are removed 2-3 weeks after planting in the ground (2 lower leaves per week).
It is extremely important not to remove the leaves located above the first bunch, they are a source of nutrition for the fruits set on this branch.
After removing all the leaves up to the first bunch, stop pruning until all the fruits have set on the bunch.
Also, before the fruits begin to ripen, it is forbidden to cut off the leaves located above this bunch.
Earlier we told you why you should spray tomatoes with brilliant green and furacilin.
