In order to protect onions from stress associated with cold weather and temperature “swings” (a very common occurrence this season), a good old method is recommended.
All that is needed is to cover it with spunbond (arches above the plant, installed in such a way that the covering does not touch it, otherwise condensation can activate fungal diseases).
After a week, as those in the know say, the onion will recover on its own.
However, the problem may not be related only to the factors mentioned.
This means that some effort must be made to prevent premature yellowing of the feathers.
It is recommended to pre-loosen the soil and establish moderate watering.
In order for the plant to recover as quickly as possible, it is recommended to “treat” it with a mixture of ammonium nitrate and ammophoska (equal proportions).
To do this, you need to sprinkle the beds - one hundred grams of the mixture per 1 square meter of land.
After about 10 days, you can use natural fertilizers from green grass infusion and yeast fertilizer.
However, you should not “treat” the plant with them excessively – give exactly half of the previous volumes.
But you can increase the frequency, if previously you added, say, once every 2 weeks. Now – once every 1 week for a month.
Earlier we told you what to spray sweet peppers with in June so that the harvest has time to ripen before the end of the season.
