A crop such as blueberries is just beginning to gain popularity among summer residents, which is not surprising - one of the reasons explaining this fact is the high cost of planting material.

That is why the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh decided to share a method of how to get several more from one blueberry bush.

Propagation of blueberries by shoots with part of the rhizome

This method is good for those varieties of blueberries that become very dense over time - an example is the Nordland blueberry, in the root zone of which many shoots are formed - they need to be cut out regularly.

Some of these shoots can be used to grow a new plant.

To obtain planting material, carefully rake away the mulch and dig up the soil near the selected branch.

After this, you will need to separate the shoot from the mother plant in such a way that part of the rhizome is preserved.

Place the resulting seedling in a separate container with an acidic substrate and water it regularly throughout the summer, and with the onset of autumn, plant the young bush in a permanent place.

Previously, we talked about how to increase strawberry yields using iodine.
