There are different methods that can be used to root grape cuttings.
As the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained, for root formation you can place grape cuttings in clean water, in a container filled with agroperlite, or in a solution of a stimulator (for example, the drug Profistim Universal).
These methods, by the way, are suitable for cutting and rooting roses and hydrangeas – paniculate and tree-like.
After the grape cutting has formed a good root system, the length of which will be up to 1.5 cm, transplant it into a tall container of a larger volume (a pre-cut plastic bottle will do).
The container should be filled one third with loose soil that has a neutral acidity, and there must be drainage holes at the bottom.
When planting, the cuttings need to be deepened - to do this, carefully add soil, without compacting it and watering it from time to time.
The container with the grape cutting should be filled with soil up to the level of the bud on the shoot.
To protect the seedlings from overheating in the sun, it is recommended to wrap the bottles with cuttings in white paper. Do not rush to plant young grape plants in open soil until the threat of recurrent frosts has passed (in some regions, this probability may persist until mid-June).
To continue growing the roots of grape seedlings, large volumes of soil can be used - for this, it is worth transplanting them into cut five-liter bottles.
It is better to plant grapes with a strong root system later, when the soil in the garden has warmed up well, than to subject the plant to stress by planting in cold soil or during a cold snap.
Earlier we talked about how towater the grass so that it doesn’t grow.
