Many people would like to grow a beautiful flower on their plot, but to do this, you need to choose the right variety.

The fact is that lavender species differ greatly not only in their appearance and aroma, but also have different care needs and growing conditions.

If you want lavender to truly delight you, then the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises paying attention to the difference between the two varieties.

What do they consist of?

Resistance to adverse weather conditions

French lavender cannot be called stable and hardy, of course. The French variety is too delicate and demanding. It needs to be provided with ideal conditions. If this is not the case, the lavender may die.

English lavender, on the other hand, is the complete opposite: it can survive even in the most difficult conditions.

Dimensions

Lavender varieties are very easy to identify by their appearance. The French variety can grow up to one hundred centimeters.

But English lavender is half the size.

Flowering period

It is important for many that lavender pleases the eye and receptors as much as possible. French lavender, of course, wins in this case: its flowering period is three months.

But the English variety blooms for only 30 days.
